NJ Girl Brings Down The House At School Play, Video Gets 8M Views
The 8-year-old's performance with her class during the school's Christmas play has drawn over 8 million views on social media.
Students and parents packed into the auditorium for a recent Christmas play were treated to quite the show. Eight-year-old Lucy has dancing in her genes, and the South Jersey student took this moment to show off her moves.
“This is my daughter at her school Christmas concert,” her mom posted on Facebook. “She brought the house down. See if you can guess which one she is.”
It doesn’t take long to figure it out. About eight seconds into the video, Lucy takes center stage, throwing her arms out with the grace of a seasoned dance veteran. For the next two minutes and 24 seconds, those who were in attendance were treated to a live performance of what would become a social media sensation.

The class’s performance of “Blitzen Boogie” went viral, garnering over eight million views on social media as of Friday afternoon. For those who haven’t seen it yet, the video is attached to this post.
Lucy’s mother, Kelly, typically doesn’t make her Facebook videos public. When someone asked her to because they wanted to show someone else, the video took off. Kelly thought nothing of it until the video hit 500 views.

She said she showed her daughter how many views the video has, as well as all the positive comments she has received. A sampling:
“Wow! Great performance...loved her display of confidence on stage.”
“Did someone say BROADWAY could indeed be in her future?!”
“If I was a talent scout I be in boxing you! Lmdao this was amazing I watched twice.”
“When ya got it, you got it, and she’s definitely got it!! Too cute!”
And that's just a handful of the many comments her video has drawn. The positive response has been enormous.
“I don’t know if she has any clue just how many people that is,” Kelly said in a phone interview Friday morning. “I’m having a hard time picturing it.”
More performances such as this may indeed be in her future. Both her parents attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, and her brother is in the theater. Kelly said this performance isn’t out of the ordinary for her daughter.
“She always performs like that,” she said.
And from the looks of it, she may be doing so for a while.
