South Jersey Man Charged With Drug Possession After Calling 911: Cinnaminson Police

Police responded to the Apollo Motel Wednesday night for the report of an assault. The caller ended up being charged.

A Mount Laurel man called police on Wednesday night, but he was the one who found himself in jail.

Garry Mauger Jr., 44, was charged with two counts of possession of CDS, and possession of CDS paraphernalia, Cinnaminson Police said Thursday morning.

Mauger called Cinnaminson Police on Wednesday night at 9:14 p.m., claiming he had just been assaulted by another man while at the Apollo Motel located at 2600 Rt. 130 North.

Cinnaminson Police arrived and began investigating the report.

While conducting the investigation, police developed information that Mauger was possibly in possession of CDS.

Police searched his room and discovered Mauger was allegedly illegally in possession of prescription drugs, CDS paraphernalia, and a plastic bag containing a white powdery substance police believed to be cocaine.

Mauger was processed and released pending court.
