South Jersey Man Fatally Stabbed Dad 2 Days Before Easter: Cops

MILLVILLE, NJ - A 38-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murdering his father just before the holiday weekend.

Michael Tedesco, of Millville, was arrested Friday night and charged in the fatal stabbing of his father, 66-year-old Gary Tedesco, according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office.

Authorities said the younger Tedesco stabbed his father during a fight at a home on the 400 block of Carlton Avenue at about 9:30 a.m. on Friday, April 19, two days before Easter Sunday.

He then knocked Gary Tedesco’s mother, Stella Tedesco, to the ground before fleeing the scene in his father’s vehicle, authorities said. Stella Tedesco didn’t require medical attention.

Gary Tedesco’s vehicle was later recovered in the area of 6th and Pine streets in Millville, according to authorities.

Michael Tedesco was arrested in Millville on Friday night. He was charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon and robbery.

He was lodged in the Cumberland County Jail on a complaint warrant. The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office will be filing for preventative detention.
