The church cancelled the annual carnival to help prevent the spread of new coronavirus.
CINNAMINSON, NJ — St. Charles Borromeo’s annual carnival has been cancelled for 2020 to help prevent the spread of new coronavirus, the parish announced on Friday.
“During this unprecedented time in all our lives, we are forced to make difficult decisions,” St. Charles Borromeo said in a statement announcing the cancellation. “Our highest priority at this time is the health and safety of all; our volunteers, patrons, vendors and the people who have supported our carnival for the last 51 years.”

The theme of this year’s carnival was to be “Generations — Building their Future,” emphasizing the importance of taking care of those most important to us.
“Given the uncertainty of timing and the need to protect others, canceling is the most prudent decision we can make at this time,” St. Charles Borromeo officials said. “That said, the carnival will be back and stronger than ever in June 2021. Thank you for understanding this heartbreaking decision and please know of our prayers for you during this trying time.”
