CINNAMINSON, NJ — Here's a look at some upcoming events at the Cinnaminson Library for the week of Dec. 10-14, 2019. Each event's description comes from the library's website. Click the name of each event for more information.

Tuesday, Dec. 10
Tai Chi, 10:30 a.m. to noon: This is a beginner’s course in Qigong and Tai Chi, slow, gentle forms of exercise that help increase energy, flexibility, balance and body awareness. Those who suffer from bad posture, stiff joints, tension and instability should find the course especially helpful. No special equipment or attire required other than loose-fitting clothing and soft, flat-bottom shoes. This program is for adults only.

Teen Cook Camp: Bunuelos, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Join us each month to learn simple, no-oven-needed recipes you can make at home. This month, learn how to make bunuelos (a traditional Mexican holiday treat) and chile pepper hot chocolate. Nutritional information will be made available, please inform instructor of any food allergies prior to class. Ages 11-18 Registration is required! Please sign up each teen individually!

Wednesday, Dec. 11
Hello/Goodbye Storytime, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Join us for stories, songs, and dancing in our Hello/Goodbye Storytime. For ages 6 and under. Registration is not required.

Scrabble Club, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Do you love a good game of Scrabble? Look no further. You have found kindred spirits . Players of all levels and all ages are welcome to drop in.

Laughter Yoga, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Laughter Yoga is a whole body, well-being workout that uses intentional laughter, breathing, mindfulness, and gentle movement to promote a healthy, joyful and vibrant life. It's uplifting, energizing and fun! There are no yoga poses involved. The yoga aspect is the deep breathing and mindfulness that we include. The program is wonderful for friendly connection, stress relief and can also help ease anxiety & mild depression, while also being a form of exercise. We do not use jokes or comedy and you do not need to be flexible or funny. You can even participate in a chair. Please bring water and a willingness to be playful and have fun! Thursday, Dec. 12
Winter Warm Up, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Relax and celebrate the oncoming wintry season at our Winter Warm-Up party! Teens are invited to create festive decorations, ugly holiday t-shirts (bring your own tee) and cozy hand warmers while enjoying a hot chocolate station and "snowball" games.

Friday, Dec. 13
Parachute Play, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Pop into the library for some fun play with the parachute. Dress comfortably for 35 minutes of fun songs and movement! Recommended for ages 5 and under. Registration is not required.

The Writer's Clinic, 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: If you need help with writing tasks like:

  • Resumes
  • Cover Letters
  • Filling out Forms (except for legal, financial and tax documents)
  • Writing Projects (i.e. toasts, speeches, reports, essays, etc.)
  • College Papers
  • Letters

We can help you! Meet one-on-one with a professional writing instructor and get the job done! This program is for adults only.

Saturday, Dec. 14
ESL Conversation Group, 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: Want to practice your English with other non-native speakers? Want to improve your vocabulary, grammar and speech in a safe and supportive environment? Join ESL facilitator, Kathy Orey, twice a month for conversation practice covering topics such as food, shopping, health, customs, holidays, and fun things to do. Important to know: Kathy Orey is the facilitator and will lead the group in activities.
