Temple Sinai Is The Schule In Your Cinnaminson Neighborhood
Temple Sinai is more than just a place of worship in Cinnaminson.

CINNAMINSON, NJ — Temple Sinai in Cinnaminson provides worship services for practicing Jewish people in Cinnaminson and the surrounding towns. It does more than that, though, as it also holds fairs and will host the Relay for Life. Below is a column provided by Sinai about the schule in your neighborhood.
Mr. Rogers the classic childhood TV star had a catchy tune, “Who are the People in your neighborhood?” In Cinnaminson, there is a fantastic air of knowing your neighbors, the people who work and/or live here. I wanted to take a moment to talk about one of those friendly neighbors, your local Schule. Schule is German/Yiddish for school and is used by many orthodox, Conservative and Ashkenazic communities as meaning synagogue or temple.
A few of you may be thinking that it is not back to school time and we should all be enjoying the summer without the word school. Rest assured this neighbor agrees on summertime fun and community. So, how well do you know your synagogue? That’s right Temple Sinai is a part of your community.

Members or not, the families of Cinnaminson and its surrounding communities are affected by the synagogue and they also shape and sculpt the synagogue itself. It is not just a well-kept piece of real estate where Jewish practitioners go to pray. Synagogues are all about community and learning, as the word Schule implies. A Hebrew school, weekly, holiday services and Jewish events do translate to families looking to buy right here in town or close by.
For 50 years Temple Sinai has hosted events requiring the services of local businesses and hiring of local workers. It draws people from places like Moorestown, Delran, Cherry Hill and other towns to come and shop before and after these functions.

Temple Sinai and its members have made major contributions to this community and hope to enjoy many more years here. Recently, the annual rummage sale brought in a great number of people who had many bargains to find. Unsold items were donated locally, and funds help the synagogue and community kids. At any time, food goods can be dropped off for local food banks. Please stop by the office entrance with any donations. We love helping our neighbors with these and other drives like back to school supplies.
This fall we look forward to our Fall Vendor Fair Sunday, Oct. 7, 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is already a fantastic lineup of foods, jewelry, crafts, books, and so much more to kick off your holiday shopping. Don’t be shy! Sign up for a space today or plan to come by.
Not just synagogue members use the spaces and services provided here. The Relay for Life will also be using the facility to host an annual BBQ on Sunday, Aug. 19 from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. This is a fabulous fundraiser and we hope to see a lot of community members coming. Many groups like choirs rent space on a regular basis for practice. Temple Sinai has much to offer. Did you know it even has its own library? Classes and meetings are often held in this space.
The Nursery School housed in Sinai is one of the most popular around. Students from 2.5 years to pre-k have a safe, secure learning environment with a teacher to student ratio that is incredible. Many friends of the kids at Sinai have come for holiday events like our Purim carnival. These are fun and fantastic days with games and prizes for everyone to enjoy!
If you have never been to Temple Sinai and you are a Cinnaminson resident you are really missing out on an integral part of the community. Working with churches and establishments we want to create a strong and positive community in and around our township. Most services and events are open to the public.
Feel free to phone the office at 856-829-0658 anytime if you have any questions about your friendly neighborhood Schule.
