EXPIRED: Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for South Jersey

Bad weather is expected to hit after 3 p.m.

Much of South Jersey is under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch, the National Weather Service announced Friday afternoon.

At around 3:35 p.m., the watch was issued for Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Cumberland and Salem counties.

This Afternoon: A chance of showers, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 3pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. High near 82. Southwest wind around 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 9pm, then a slight chance of showers between 9pm and 11pm. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 54. West wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
