U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Hit With Child Pornography Charges in Burlington County

Gerard Cameron, 41, of Burlington City, was charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.

A Master Sgt. in the U.S. Air Force who lives in Burlington County has been charged with possession and distribution of child pornography, Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi and Burlington City Police Chief Anthony Wallace said Thursday afternoon.

Gerard Cameron, 41, of Burlington City, was charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of children.

Cameron allegedly downloaded multiple images of child pornography onto his home computer and also used file sharing software to make the material available online for others to download.

Several digital devices were seized when investigators executed a search warrant at his home on Wednesday. He was arrested following the search of his home.

The distribution charge is a second degree crime, and the two possession charges are third degree crimes.

Cameron was lodged in Burlington County Jail on $100,000 full bail. If he posts bail, Cameron is forbidden from using the Internet or having contact with minors.

The U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations participated in the investigation along with the Burlington City Police Department, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit and the Pennsylvania State Police Computer Crime Unit.

The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit is a member of the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and the New Jersey State Police Cyber Terrorism Task Force.
