Coyote May Be On The Loose In South Jersey, Police Say

EASTAMPTON, NJ — A coyote may be in the area of the Cliver Park Baseball Field in Eastampton Township, authorities said.
Eastampton police officers and public works department employees recently found several holes in the baseball diamond's infield, according to authorities. These holes were dug by a coyote, according to authorities.
Efforts are underway to trap and relocate the animal, authorities said.

Until that happens, the police department urged residents to use caution around any animals that they are unfamiliar with. They noted that coyotes are "commonly mistaken" for dogs.
