Woman Killed In Van Crash On Jersey Turnpike In Burlington Co.: Police

The driver and 2 other passengers also sustained injuries, authorities said.

WESTAMPTON, NJ — A woman was ejected and killed when a van crashed Tuesday morning on the New Jersey Turnpike in Burlington County, authorities said.

The woman — Angela Claros Antonio, 45, of Elizabeth — was a passenger in the van during the single-vehicle crash, according to State Police.

Troopers responded to the collision at 7:15 a.m. on the Turnpike in Westampton. According to the preliminary investigation, the Chevrolet van was traveling southbound when the driver lost directional control. The vehicle ran off the roadway to the right, traveled down an embankment and subsequently overturned, police said.

During the collision sequence, Antonio was ejected and sustained fatal injuries, said Tpr. Troy McNair. The driver and two other passengers sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital.

The accident remains under investigation.
