Woman Used Cinnaminson Company Credit Card For Augmentation: Cops
Karen O'Brien is accused of using former employer Sea Box's credit card to pay for buttock augmentation surgery and other expenses.
CINNAMINSON, NJ — A Maple Shade woman stole more than $600,000 from Cinnaminson-based Sea Box, where she was employed, and used the company credit card for buttock augmentation among other things, authorities announced on Thursday.
Karen O’Brien, 41, also used the company credit card to buy airfare, rental cars and lodging accommodations for her and others to vacation in Puerto Rico, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Cinnaminson Township Police Chief Richard A. Calabrese.
O’Brien, who was the company’s human resource office, used it to pay for herself and a friend to undergo buttock augmentation procedures at a Las Vegas plastic surgery center.

She used the $614,499 she stole from the company to buy designer clothes, handbags, and other accessories from luxury stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton, among others, authorities said. It all took place over a one-year period, ending in December, authorities said.
She was arrested during a traffic stop in Gloucester City on Wednesday, according to authorities. When she was arrested, she was in possession of $30,000, authorities said.

She remains in custody pending a court appearance, and has been fired by Sea Box, officials said. After her first appearance, the case will be prepared for presentation to a grand jury.
The investigation began late last year when Sea Box contacted Cinnaminson police to tell them O’Brien had been caught embezzling money, authorities said.
O’Brien was charged with second-degree theft by unlawful taking and second-degree computed related activity for the purpose of executing a scheme to defraud.
