World War II Bomb Safely Detonated at Joint Base
The bomb was discovered at Middlesex County College on Thursday.

A 500-pound bomb from World War II was found in Middlesex County and transported to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, where it was detonated safely Thursday night.
“The unexploded ordnance was successfully detonated at 11 p.m.,” the base said in a Facebook post Thursday night. “We appreciate your patience. Big thanks to the EOD team for keeping us all safe!”
The 87th Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordnance Disposal determined the bomb needed an immediate response.

The bomb was found at Middlesex County College around 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon, according to nj.com.
