World's Biggest Rubber Duck to Float Down Delaware River

Sources have not yet confirmed if he squeaks.

The world’s largest rubber duck is so big, it has abandoned the tub for a more suitable environment—the Delaware River.

What has been described as the world’s largest rubber duck—coming in at 61 feet—will float down the Delaware for the Philadelphia Camden Tall Ships Festival, to be held June 25-28.

The colossal rubber ducky is the latest version of an iconic floating sculpture originally created by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, according to Visit Philadelphia.

In addition to the gigantic ducky, the festival will feature more than a dozen international and domestic ships.

Vessels include Philadelphia’s official Tall Ship, Gazela, as well as the US Coast Guard’s Barque Eagle. Ships from Canada, France and Brazil will also be on display.

According to Visit Philadelphia, Tall Ships is an annual event that is rotated throughout the Great Lakes and Pacific and Atlantic coasts.

Tickets to the event range from $7 for a single-day ticket to $150 for a special VIP sail pass. (Use code VISITPHILLY for online purchase of half-price multi-day passes.)
