2 Attempted Lurings Reported In Union County

The most recent attempting luring was in Clark when a 12-year-old girl was walking home from Kumpf Middle School.

CLARK, NJ — Two attempted lurings of young girls were reported in Union County, most recently of a Clark student.

The incident occurred on Sept. 13 but the parent of the 12-year-old girl and Kumpf Middle School student reported the incident on Monday.

The girl was reportedly walking home after school on Madison Hill Road by St. Agnes Church when a four-door, white colored newer model sedan occupied by a single white man in his late 60's, earlier 70's approached her. The driver is also described as being thin with grayish/white hair.

As the vehicle came closer, the man asked her if she needed a ride, Clark Police reported.

Kenilworth also reported a man attempted to lure a 15-year-old Kenilworth girl while she walking home from school on Sept. 11.

At around 4:30 p.m. the girl was walking home from David Brearley High School when she was approached by a man in a car while crossing the Boulevard at Coolidge Drive, Kenilworth police reported.

The vehicle in the Kenilworth incident is described as a black sedan, possibly a Honda. The driver was described as a grey-haired white man approximately 30 to 40 years old.
