3 Clark Stores Evacuated For High Carbon Monoxide Readings

3 stores in Clark Commons were evacuated due to high carbon monoxide readings​ on Wednesday afternoon, Clark Fire Chief Frank Cerasa said.

CLARK, NJ — Three stores in the Clark Commons were evacuated due to high carbon monoxide readings on Wednesday afternoon, Clark Fire Chief Frank Cerasa said.

Clark Firefighers went to 1255 Raritan Road around 11:50 a.m. on Wednesday after Ulta Beauty's carbon monoxide alarm went off, Cerasa said.

"We found readings in Ulta, Torrid and Red Mango," Cerasa said.

Elizabethtown gas crews checked the heating units on the roof while Clark firefighters ventilated the stores to lower the readings.

After some time, employees were allowed back in and fire crews were released. There were no reported injuries.

The gas company will determine the cause, Cerasa said.
