3 Injured As Fire Truck, Tractor Trailer Crash On NJ Turnpike
One firefighter had to be rescued and pulled from the Linden fire truck. All 3 firefighters on board were taken to a hospital, police said.
LINDEN, NJ — Three firemen were hospitalized after a Linden fire truck and a tractor trailer crashed on the NJ Turnpike Tuesday morning, police said.
At around 9 a.m. a Linden Fire Department Engine was getting off the NJ Turnpike to the Wood Avenue Emergency Access Road when it was hit by a tractor trailer driving south on the highway, Linden Police Lt. Christopher Guenther said.
One fireman had to be rescued and pulled from the engine. All three firemen on the truck were taken to Newark University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Guenther said.

The truck driver was not injured.
The crash is being investigated by the New Jersey State Police.
