3 Men Wanted In Armed Carjacking In Linden

The wanted men reportedly pointed a handgun at a man and ordered him to get out of his car in Linden on Wednesday night, Linden Police said.

LINDEN, NJ — Police are asking the public for help in identifying two men wanted in connection with an armed carjacking in Linden on Wednesday night.

At around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, two men reportedly got out of a black Ford Mustang on the 800 block of Essex Avenue and approached a victim, and ordered him to get out of his car while pointing a handgun at him, Linden Police said.

The men then fled in both vehicles driving east toward N. Park Avenue.

The Essex County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a similar incident that occurred in Newark on Aug. 1 that may involve the same people.

Based on the information provided by the victims the New Jersey State Police Forensic Imaging Unit created sketches of the suspects.

The first suspect is described as a dark-skinned black man, between 5-foot-9-inches and 5-foot-10-inches tall, about 160 to 170 pounds, wearing a white shirt.

The second is described as a dark-skinned black man, between 5-foot-9-inches and 5-foot-10-inches tall, about 160 to 170 pounds, with long braids pulled back into a ponytail, and wearing a white T-shirt.

The third suspect is described as a black man, however, no further description could be provided.
