"We have been married 44 years and don't have children, our pets have always been our kids," Barbara McCade said.

CLARK, NJ — A Plainfield couple is absolutely heartbroken over their poodle named Chanel, who went missing last week.

Barbara and Robert McCabe have posted fliers in hopes that someone may know where their dog is and are offering a $5,000 reward as well.

"We have been married 44 years and don't have children, our pets have always been our kids," Barbara McCabe said.

Chanel, named just like the perfume, is a white pure-bred standard poodle. She is up-to-date on her vaccinations, is 12 years old and gets groomed every two weeks.

She was last seen at the McCabe's home on Belvidere Avenue running up Watchung Avenue on March 22 when she ran out the front door.

"She's never run away before ever," McCabe said. "It was like something spooked her and she just took off."

McCabe shared her flier on social media and has had Facebook sightings that have taken the couple to Scotch Plains, Clark, Garwood, Westfield and Plainfield.

"We appreciate any help we can get, it's the most heartbreaking thing," McCabe said.

If anyone has seen Chanel call Barbara at 908-565-1058 or Robert at 732-887-4866.
