Alert Resident Helps Clark Police Nab Alleged Home Burglar
The Plainfield man was found walking with a bag containing proceeds from a home burglary he allegedly had just committed on Orchard Terrace.

CLARK, NJ — An alert citizen helped Clark Police arrest an alleged home burglar on Wednesday afternoon.
A resident reported at 1 p.m. a suspicious blue BMW SUV in the area of Orchard Terrace and Hawthorne Drive.
Clark Police reported locating the parked SUV and then shortly afterwards locating Khiry S. Moody, 28, of Summer Avenue in Plainfield, walking in the back yard of a home, police report.

Moody was in carrying a bag containing proceeds from a residential burglary he allegedly had just committed on Orchard Terrace, police reported.
Moody was arrested.

"Today's arrest was made possible by the hard work of Capt Grady, Lt. Pitts, Det. Sgt. Lott, Sgt. Shackleton, Det. Sgt. Marmarou, Officers Oliveira, Henriques, Elwardany, Pazdan, Somma, Detectives Mcdonald, Ciaccio Soos, Joy and an alert CITIZEN," Clark Police stated.
Anyone who has any information regarding this event is asked to call the police department at 732-388-3434.
Police are reminding residents to also lock their car doors as their was an incident during the early morning hours of Friday where an unlocked motor vehicle on Briarheath Lane was burglarized and the owner’s wallet was taken.
That same day, a Willow Way resident reported confronting a masked man in the driveway at 4 a.m. who was trying to get into the cars parked in the driveway. The man fled in a nearby vehicle before police could arrive, police report.
The wallet from the earlier burglarized vehicle was recovered on that front lawn.
