Alert Residents Help Linden Police Nab Alleged Burglar

Linden residents reported seeing Gordon Hall Jr., 19, of Newark trying to break into multiple homes on W. Linden Ave​nue.

LINDEN, NJ — A Newark man was arrested after Linden residents reported seeing him trying to break into multiple homes, police report.

Police went to check out the residents' tip on W. Linden Ave. where they found Gordon Hall Jr, 19, in a backyard on the 300 block.

Hall ran when officers confronted him but didn't get far as police arrested him on Jan. 18 at about 1:30 p.m.

“Ensuring that residents feel safe and secure inside their homes is a top priority,” said Police Chief David Hart. “As this case demonstrates, the most effective tool we have to combat crimes like this is the cooperation of alert and proactive members of our community.”

Hall was charged with third degree burglary and associated resisting arrest charges. He was released on a
summons pending an appearance in Superior Court on Feb. 2.
