This release was submitted by the Clark School District.

On Sunday January 27, 2013 ALJ HS Senior Cheerleader, Alison Dugan, was one of seventy All-Americans to cheer in the NFL Pro-Bowl.  This All-American Cheer and Dance (AACD) group of talented athletes performed during the pre-game and half time show.

Ali was nominated in April 2012 for the Pro Bowl tour by her competitive all star cheerleading team, NJ Heat, and was selected by AACD at a competition in Hershey, PA. While in Hawaii, Ali and 29 other athletes qualified to compete for a national scholarship. Ali competed in the Cheer and Tumble division and was judged on an individually performed routine. She was awarded first place and a one thousand dollar scholarship.

Reflecting on her accomplishments Dugan says, "I have been cheering since I was 6 years old and I never imagined cheerleading would take me to Hawaii to cheer at the Pro Bowl. It was an awesome experience and I got to meet athletes from all over the country. Taking 1st place in the scholarship competition was the icing on the cake for this amazing adventure."

Alison will be attending Penn State University in the fall where she hopes to continue her cheerleading career as a Nittany Lion.
