CLARK, NJ - The Township of Clark is accepting qualification statements from historic restoration contractors for a roof restoration project at the Robinson Plantation House, a property listed on both the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places.
The project at 593 Madison Hill Road includes replacement of wood shingle roofing, installation of new gutters, leaders and flashings, repointing of the brick chimney, repairs to heavy timber framing, finish carpentry repairs at eaves and rakes, and surface preparation and painting of historic material.
Qualification statements must be submitted in duplicate in a sealed envelope to Township Business Administrator James F. Ulrich at 430 Westfield Ave. no later than 4 p.m. Friday, June 5. Envelopes should be marked "Roof Restoration at the Robinson Plantation House."
Only contractors determined to be pre-qualified will be invited to submit bids. All prospective bidders must demonstrate experience completing projects of similar scope that followed the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
