Officials said the effort is part of a routine program that runs during warmer months to help reduce mosquito populations and support public health efforts across the county.

Residents in the affected areas may notice trucks and activity in their neighborhoods while crews are working in the evening hours.

Officials also encourage residents to take steps around their homes to help limit mosquito breeding, including removing standing water from items such as birdbaths, flower pot saucers, buckets, toys, and clogged gutters.

Questions about the spraying can be directed to the Union County Office of Mosquito Control at 908-654-9834 or 908-654-9835.
