Clark To Honor Fallen Officer At September 11 Ceremony

CLARK, NJ — Clark residents will gather Friday, September 11, to remember those killed in the terrorist attacks 25 years ago.

The township's Patriots Day ceremony will run from 8:45 to 10:30 a.m. at James Nelson Memorial Park on Broadway.

The park bears the name of Clark resident and Port Authority Police Officer James Nelson, who died in the World Trade Center attacks.

"His sacrifice, and that of so many others, reminds us of the courage, unity and resilience that carried our nation through its darkest hours," township officials said.

Residents are encouraged to attend with family and neighbors. Municipal offices will open late so employees can participate in the tribute, according to the township announcement.
