Authorities Investigate Fatal Shooting In Linden

22-year-old Nadir Williams was found with multiple gunshot wounds shortly after midnight. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

LINDEN, NJ — Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting in Linden early Friday morning, acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo and Linden Police Chief David Hart jointly announced.

The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Nadir Williams.

Shortly after midnight Linden Police went to the 400 block of Bower Street where they found Williams with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the preliminary investigation.

Williams was taken to University Hospital in Newark, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 2:30 a.m., Ruotolo said.

This investigation is being led by the Union County Homicide Task Force and assisted by members of the Linden Police Department, Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit, and Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit.
