Steeple Concerts at St. Paul’s continues its 2026-2027 season on Sunday, November 15, at 5 PM, with the exciting and unique Arcis Saxophone Quartet. Tickets, priced at $40/adults and $15/students, are available online at steepleconcerts.org or at the door. St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is located at 414 East Broad Street in Westfield, NJ. Following the concert, you are cordially invited to a “Meet and Greet the Players” reception, where you can enjoy a glass of bubbly while chatting with the artists. Free concert parking is available in the St. Paul’s parking lot off Euclid Avenue or on St. Paul’s Street, next to the church.

Based in Munich, Germany, Arcis has emerged globally as one of the most vibrant and active classical ensembles. Whether in Ecuador, in the middle of the Saudi Arabian desert, on a rock in the American Atlantic, or in the sold-out Philharmonie in Munich and Berlin, the four saxophonists delight audiences and “feel right at home.” After their 2024 appearance at Tanglewood’s Linde Center for Music and Learning (Lenox, MA), the Berkshire Edge wrote, “Their musicianship is exemplary, their intonation uncanny, their repertoire delightfully eclectic, their business model ingenious….When the Arcis Saxophone Quartet tours the world, the world is changed.”

Arcis players acquired their chamber music skills from the best of the best. They studied both with the world-renowned Artemis Quartet at the UdK -- Universität der Künste Berlin, one of the oldest, largest, and most prominent art and design universities in Europe, and at the European Chamber Music Academy, a leading mobile network that trains and supports young, professionally oriented chamber music ensembles.

The quartet has won awards at competitions in Munich, Berlin, Italy, and Russia, performing both in those venues and in Austria, the UK, and the US. Sunday, November 15 at 5 PM at St. Paul’s marks the quartet’s first visit to Westfield, NJ.

Arcis repertoire ranges from classical composers like Erik Satie, Philip Glass, and Dimitri Shostakovich to more popular composers like Astor Piazzolla to works by contemporary composers commissioned by the quartet. For the Arcis Saxophone Quartet, music is “an endless playground.” Moreover, they are known for being “as diverse as no other group….Only one thing remains constant: their distinctive sound.”

Notes Kevin Moore, Chairman, Friends of Music at St. Paul’s, “We are fortunate that this exceptional saxophone quartet, Arcis, is taking time off their busy world schedule to perform just for us, our Westfield area audience!”
