Car Crash on Raritan Road Closes Road, Knocks Out Power for Some

Crash knocked out power to some residents in Cranford and Clark.

A female driver was transported to the hospital with injuries following a crash on Raritan Road, near Mohawk Drive, in the early hours of the morning today. 

Cranford Police are declining to release her identity or the extent of her injuries at this time. They said the driver was the only occupant of the vehicle. 

Police responded to the single vehicle crash at 2:43 a.m. and discovered the car had left the roadway and struck a power pole, causing power lines to fall across the roadway.

The roadway is currently closed, as PSEG continues to make repairs they begun at 3:25 am.  A detour has been set up directing motorists around the blocked roadway using either Centennial Ave or Walnut Ave. Raritan Road is not expected to open soon.
