Nineteen Clark Students Honored for Perfect Scores on NJASK
These students scored 300 on the New Jersey Assessment of Skill and Knowledge.
Nineteen students were honored for perfect scores on the New Jersey Assessment of Skill and Knowledge at the Clark Board of Education meeting Tuesday night.
The students - nine from fifth grade and 10 from third grade - received a score of 300 in the mathematics section, which is the highest score possible on the part of exam.
"We are so proud of all of their accomplishments," said Superintendent of Schools Kenneth Knops. "They are truly ambassadors for the school and their families."

Each student received a certificate of achievement on behalf of the Board of Education.
The standarized exam tests students in language arts and mathematics in a multi-grade assessment which tracks students' performances as they move through elementary school to middle school.

A student who scores 250 to 300 on the test is considered advanced proficient. Scores 200 to 250 are proficient; anything less than 200 is below proficient.
Every state is required to administer annual standards-based assessment of all children in grade 3 through 8.
