Clark Firefighters Battle Kitchen Fire Tuesday

When firefighters arrived 2 residents already escaped and there was heavy smoke and an active fire in progress, Chief Frank Cerasa​ said.

CLARK, NJ — Clark firefighters responded to a kitchen fire at a township home on Tuesday morning.

The fire was reported at 9:27 a.m. at 12 Kenneth Place. When firefighters arrived two residents already escaped and there was heavy smoke and an active fire in progress, Clark Fire Chief Frank Cerasa said.

Two Clark Fire Department engines, one ladder truck and about 10 members helped extinguish the blaze. There were no reported injuries, Cerasa said.

The Union County Arson Squad is investigating the cause of the fire.

Cranford and Linden engines, Rahway truck company and Clark First Aid Squad also provided mutual aid.
