Clark Local Among 2 Arrested On Drug Charges In Cranford

CRANFORD, NJ — A Clark local was among two people to be arrested on drug-related charges last week in Cranford, according to the police blotter.

On Aug. 19 at 11: 50 a.m.: Police units were dispatched to the area of North Avenue West and North Union Avenue for a traffic crash. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Christopher Gross arrested one of the drivers, Quentin Padilla, 25, of Clark for suspected prescription legend drugs located inside the vehicle. He was charged with possession of prescription legend drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, processed and provided with a superior court appearance date. In addition, he was also issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

On Aug. 20 at 10:21 a.m.: A 1999 Toyota was stopped on North Avenue East near the Garden State Parkway 137 Exchange for a seat belt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Patrolman Ryan Gerrity arrested the passenger, Robinson Alvarez, 38, of West Caldwell for hypodermic syringes located inside the vehicle. He was charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe, processed and provided with a municipal court appearance date. In addition, the driver was issued a motor vehicle summons for a seat belt violation.
