Clark Man Arrested For Car Burglary In Roselle Park: Police
Along with the car burglar, a shoplifter and three people were arrested for drugs in Roselle Park, according to police.

ROSELLE PARK, NJ — A car burglar from Clark was arrested for trying to steal a car in Roselle Park, police report.
Roselle Park Police responded to the 300 block of W. Clay Ave. for a report a motor vehicle theft in progress on Nov. 5 at approximately 9:01 a.m. where they saw a man exit a 1995 Buick.
The man then ran away southbound through neighboring yards and over fences, according to police.

The vehicle had a damaged steering column and blood was discovered within the passenger compartment.
Union County Sheriffs K-9 and Identification Unit also responded where Sgt. Tara Halpin and Ptl. Michael Smith found the alleged burglar hiding in a neighboring garage.

The man identified as Jeffrey A. Wheeler, 47, from Clark. Wheeler was arrested and charged with burglary to a motor vehicle, attempted theft of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, criminal trespass, criminal mischief and possession of a burglary tool, according to police.
Bail was set at $25,000. Wheeler was ultimately lodged into the Union County Jail.

On Nov. 12 at approximately 10:59 p.m.: Ptl. William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop with a 2009 Mercedes Benz on W. Westfield Ave for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, Justin Merriweather, age 31 from Linden was found to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana). He was placed under arrest and charged with possession of c.d.s. Merriweather was issued a summons and released with a court date.
On Nov. 17 at approximately 12:06 p.m.: Officers responded to the World of Liquors located at 137 Chestnut St. for a report of a shoplifting. Taken from the store was a 750ml bottle of Tequila valued at approximately $20. The individual who committed the shoplifting was detained by store personnel. The individual was identified as Timothy A. Hackett, age 21 from Union. Hackett was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting. Hackett was issued a summons and released on his own recognizance with a court date.
On Nov. 18 at approximately 12:24 a.m.: Ptl. William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop with a 2000 Lexus on W. Westfield Ave for an equipment violation. The passenger of the vehicle, Leandro Herrera, age 18 from Elizabeth was found to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) and drug paraphernalia. He was placed under arrest and charged with possession of c.d.s. and possession of drug paraphernalia. Herrera was issued a summons and released with a court date.
On Nov. 19 at approximately 8:50 p.m.: Ptl. William Hannon conducted a motor vehicle stop with a 2005 Buick on E. Westfield Ave for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle, Tykee J. Stokes, age 24 from Newark was found to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance (rock cocaine and marijuana) and drug paraphernalia. He was placed under arrest and charged with 2 counts of possession of c.d.s. and possession of drug paraphernalia. Stokes was issued a summons and released with a court date.
