“I am deeply honored to be elected as the new President of the BCGPP Board of Directors. I look forward to working with the Board and the staff to move our Club’s mission forward. We are making a positive difference in the Paterson and Passaic communities through our quality childcare programs that focus on academics, healthy habits and social-emotional learning which, given the events of 2020 are more important than ever,” said Brim.

As a leader in youth services and a pillar of the Paterson and Passaic communities for nearly 60 years, the Boys & Girls Club operates Summer Camp and after-school programming with specific focuses on academics, healthy habits and social-emotional learning. Throughout the years, the Club has seen hundreds of thousands of children enter its doors – and it has combatted many crises before, though nothing like the recent COVID-19 epidemic.

Having been forced to temporarily close to in person childcare services, the Boys & Girls Club transformed both its Paterson and Passaic Clubhouses into Food Distribution locations to ensure that community youth – and community members at large – had access to shelf stable meals. The Club continues to adapt to the needs in the community and both Paterson and Passaic Clubhouses are open for a full day of programming as schools remain closed for in-person learning. The Boys & Girls Club exists as a safe haven for children to learn virtually, provides daily breakfast and lunch to members and offers supplemental education to combat learning loss and keep their minds and bodies strong.
