Clark Police Equipped With Body Worn Cameras

Clark Police announced they will begin wearing body cameras

Clark, NJ -- Clark has begun wearing body cameras.

“The public should be aware that anything said to an officer who is equipped with a (body worn camera) will be recorded,” Clark Police posted on Facebook. “The audio and video of the police-civilian encounter will be accessible for future law enforcement use in accordance with the provisions of the State Attorney General Directive 2015-1 regarding the use of BWC’s.”

Clark Police was one out of 176 across New Jersey police departments to receive body-worn cameras for their officers from the NJ Attorney General’s Office in December.

Clark received 20 cameras worth $10,000. Garwood also received 14 cameras worth $7,000.

Along with local police, county and state police also received body cameras that are being phased in over the coming months.
