CLARK, NJ — A social media post promoted the Clark Police to conduct an investigation into accusations of misconduct by a township officer during a traffic stop.

The Facebook post was made on the Clark Neighbors page on Sept. 25. Once police were made aware of the post they reviewed the in-car video and body camera video.

The officer in questions was found to not have conducted any inappropriate actions as a result of the investigation, Clark Chief Pedro M. Matos posted on the department's Facebook page.

"The department takes it's responsibility to the citizens we serve very seriously. We put a great amount of effort in making sure that every citizen interaction that we have is handled properly by our officers. The officers of this department are human beings and we do not always get it right and we also make mistakes," Matos said. "When we get it wrong we promise that we will work hard to get it right. I encourage all citizens to report any officer wrongdoing or misbehavior directly to the police department so that it can be handled appropriately."
