Clark Resident Falls Victim To Grandparent Bail Scam

Clark Police are warning residents to be on alert after a resident fell victim to a scam recently.

CLARK, NJ — Clark Police are warning residents after a township resident fell victim to a grandparent bail scam.

In July, a Clark resident got a phone call from someone pretending to be an attorney that said their granddaughter was in jail in Florida, said police.

The caller said he needed money to get the granddaughter out of jail. A courier was then sent to the house to get the cash, said police.

"Cases like these are occurring all around New Jersey," said police. "Please speak to your family and let them know of the many potential scams out there in order to protect them from fraud."
