Clark ShopRite To Offer COVID Vaccines To Health Workers

CLARK, NJ — The ShopRite in Clark is among the 39 select ShopRite pharmacies in New Jersey to administer COVID-19 vaccines to healthcare workers.

The Clark location, at 76 Central Ave., is one of two Union County ShopRite pharmacies to offer the vaccine. The other Union County ShopRite location is in Elizabeth.

The grocery store chain joined the Pharmacy Partnership Strategy for COVID-19 Vaccination Program operated by the Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control, which is providing vaccines through pharmacies across the country.

Following the federal government's distribution schedule, ShopRite pharmacies are taking a phased approach to the vaccine's distribution, focusing on those at highest risk of exposure. In this first phase, people working in the healthcare profession are prioritized to receive the vaccine.

"We are excited to be part of the initial stages of this unprecedented public health campaign as we begin vaccinating healthcare workers who are on the front lines in the COVID-19 pandemic," said Jeffrey Mondelli, RPh, Vice President of Pharmacy, Health & Beauty at Wakefern Food Corp.

For those eligible, vaccinations are available by appointment only, while supplies last. Due to demand, appointment availability may be limited.
