Coach Honored at Inaugural ALJHS Field Hockey Dinner
Katrina Anderson, who's coached at ALJ for 13 years, was described by the superintendent of schools as 'a living legend.'

Veteran Arthur L. Johnson Regional High School field hockey coach Katrina Anderson was honored last week before a crowd of more than 100 at the first-ever ALJ Field Hockey Dinner at the Gran Centurions in Clark.
Anderson was feted for her 13 seasons at ALJ, for the positive influence many said the woman known as “Coach” has had on her players, and for her team's numerous accomplishments over the years. Among those achievements: 182 wins, two state titles, a county championship and three Star-Ledger Coach of the Year awards, in 2004, 2006 and 2010.
"Just being in attendance for the evening was such an enjoyable and uplifting experience," said Clark Superintendent Kenneth Knops. "Coach Katrina is such a positive force to all who have the pleasure of coming into contact with her, be it a player, parent, student, colleague, or administrator."
Knops praised Anderson for her ability to build "a sense of family and community within her field hockey teams."
"She is a living legend and it was a pleasure to have the opportunity to honor her,” he said.
