- The Democrats have a woman running for mayor. Her running mates include one man and one woman.
- The Republicans have a woman running for mayor. Her running mates include one man and one woman.
How are people from both parties uniting?
Out of the three republicans running, 2 of them USED TO BE democrats!
Steve Napolitano has previously served as the Democrat Board President. He has also served as a Democrat as finance committee chair. Steve Napolitano is running this time around on the republican ticket.
Brenda Caffrey is also a former Democrat BUT is now running on the Republican ticket in Garwood.
As we look and listen around town, we notice A LOT of “jumping ship” by Democrats. Garwood residents choosing to support people over party has become the trend.
In these last few years the group of Democrats attempting to get re-elected have doubled the town debt, raised taxes and pushed their personal agendas. Garwood residents are tired of having people who are unqualified making decisions that negatively affect our seniors, families and town employees.
Just look to the newspaper and you will see another long term Garwood resident who has served Garwood as a Democrat, including holding the position of Board President, finance chair and currently sitting on the planning board, Kathy Villaggio, is publicly endorsing the republicans ticket!
Even the newest Republican town council member, Lou Petruzzelli, USED to be Democrat.
Why are these democrats switching parties at the local level?
Why are so many of our Garwood neighbors, regardless of party, standing behind the Kim Salmon team?
This may be something you want to look further into.
I’m new to the workings of the politics in Garwood, but seeing this WAVE of Independents, Democrats, and Republicans uniting to support The Kim Salmon team is just one more reason this life-long democrat(me) is supporting the team I feel is best to make decisions and protect us here in Garwood!
