DUI, Drug, Shoplifting Arrests Made In Clark
A car parked on Prescott Turn was also reportedly burglarized last week, according to the Clark Police Blotter.
CLARK, NJ — Clark Police report making 10 arrests last week for shoplifting, drug possession, driving under the influence and more.
Clark Police Blotter:
On July 15 at 3:34 p.m.: At headquarters, police arrested Charles West, 43, of Sewaren for shoplifting from the ShopRite Supermarket at 76 Central Ave. He was subsequently transported to the Union County Jail. Detctive Bruce McDonald was the arresting officer.

On July 16 at 6:48 p.m.: In the vicinity of police arrested Deserae Nelson, 31, of Newark for possession of controlled dangerous substance(CDS). Also arrested was Ikaim Glover, 47, of Newark for possession of CDS paraphernalia. Both individuals were subsequently released on their own recognizance pending court dates. Police Officer Michael Hernandez was the arresting officer.
On July 16 at 8:20 p.m.: Police took a report of criminal mischief to a residence on Bartell Place. The
incident is under investigation. Police Officer Omer Olmeda was the investigating officer.

On July 17 at 9:43 a.m.: Police took a report of a theft of a purse from a shopping cart of a patron of the
Target Department Store at 45 Central Ave. The incident is under investigation. Police Officer Andrew Medeiros was the investigating officer.
On July 17 at 8:11 p.m.: At 64 Ivy St., police arrested Manuel Pontes, 57, of Clark on an outstanding warrant from Monroe Township for contempt of court. He was subsequently turned over to the Monroe Township Police Department. Police Officer Michael Hernandez was the arresting officer.
On July 18 at 11:29 p.m.: In the vicinity of Raritan Road, police arrested Thomas Green, 29, of Elizabeth on an outstanding no bail warrant from the Union County Sheriff’s Department and outstanding warrants from Elizabeth and Roselle for contempt of court. He was subsequently transported to the Union County Jail on the No Bail warrant. Police Officer Michael DeAngelo was the arresting officer.
On July 18 at 7:49 p.m.: At the Essex County Jail, police arrested Jose Montijo, 42, of Colonia for resisting arrest and receiving stolen property. He remained housed at the Essex County Jail pending a court date. Detective Bruce McDonald was the arresting officer.
On July 18 at 4:02 p.m.: Police arrested Nancy Vanwhy, 75, of Cranford for shoplifting from the Marshall’s Department Store at 77 Central Ave. She was subsequently released on her own recognizance pending a court date. Police Officer Mark Detore was the arresting officer.
On July 18 at 9:20 p.m.: In the vicinity of Walnut Avenue and Raritan Road, police arrested David Chandler, 49, of Westfield for DUI. He was subsequently released pending a court date. Police Officer Michael DeAngelo was the arresting officer.
On July 19 at 2:14 a.m.: In the vicinity of Briarheath Lane, police arrested Stephen Johnson, 28, of Rahway for possession of CDS. He was subsequently released on his own recognizance pending a court date. Police Officer Michael DeAngelo was the arresting officer.
On July 19 at 4:13 p.m.: Police arrested Iman Barnes, 30, of Newark for shoplifting merchandise, valued at
$348.79, from the Marshall’s Department Store at 77 Central Ave. She was also detained on an outstanding warrant from Union totaling $1,000, for contempt of court. She was released on the Clark charges pending a court date. Police Officer Alex Yanes was the arresting officer.
On July 21 at 9:18 a.m.: Police took a report of a theft of items from a motor vehicle that was parked at a
residence on Prescott Turn. The incident is under investigation. Police Officer Alex Ruiz was the investigating officer.
On July 22 at 10:05 p.m.: In the vicinity of Raritan Road, police arrested Kaushikku Patel, 57, of Jersey City for DUI. He was subsequently released pending a court date. Sgt. Joseph Teston was the arresting officer.
