EFG will use the proceeds from the Appreciation Dinner to fund grant programs benefiting Garwood’s public schools and provide Garwood students scholarships awards. Recent grants have been awarded to Second grade teachers’ Mrs. Kathy O’Connor and Mrs. Fran Florio for “Differentiated Interactive Learning Centers”. The grant will create exploration stations in the area of Math, Science, Social Studies and Language Arts and will expand learning at different and individual levels while fostering teamwork in a collaborative environment. A grant was also awarded to Mrs. Karen McCarrick, Gifted and Talented teacher.
In collaboration with her 8th grade gifted and talented students, Mrs. McCarrick will coordinate and present a “Day with the Gods” for Lincoln School Students to introduce younger students to Ancient Greece and mythology.
The Education Foundation of Garwood will also be offering three (3) scholarships, each in the amount of $500, to graduating seniors who are Garwood residents. Forms and further information are available on the EFG link of the school website at www.garwoodschools.org
