Elizabeth Woman ID'd As Pedestrian Hit By Car In Linden
A Range Rover, driven by a Fort Lee man, lost control on E. St. George Ave. hit the pedestrian and a utility pole before flipping over.
LINDEN, NJ — A 51-year-old Elizabeth woman has been identified as the pedestrian hit by a car in Linden on Thursday, police report.
At around 3:40 p.m. a 2014 Range Rover, driven by a 51-year-old man from Fort Lee, lost control on the 1600 block of E. St. George Ave. and hit the Elizabeth woman, Linden Police reported.

The vehicle then collided with a utility pole and flipped onto its side, according to the report.

The pedestrian was transported to University Hospital in Newark with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver was not injured in the crash, according to reports.
E. St. George Avenue was closed between Nora Drive and Garfield Street until about 8:30 p.m. due to the investigation, clean-up and repairs.

Several residents were left without power as a result of the crash. PSE&G has since restored power, but repairs are expected to take several hours.
E. St. George Avenue remains partially closed between Nora Drive and Grant Street with one lane open in each direction.
The accident remains under investigation by the Linden Police Department Traffic Bureau, and anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact Investigator Jimmy Solano at 908-474-8505.
