Union County Department of Parks and Renewal, in conjunction with the Newark Bait and Fly Casting Club hosts the 31st annual Kids' Fishing Derby at Echo Lake Park in Mountainside.
Registration is Saturday, April 16, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The contest runs through May 7.
- Waters stocked with trout up to 5 pounds.
- Prizes for winning catches.
- Participants up to age 16 do not need a fishing license.
- Adults may enter for a $7 entrance fee (to benefit restocking the lake) and must have current fishing licence with trout stamp.
