
WESTFIELD, N.J. (Aug. 18, 2011) - Boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has taken over a year off from the fight game, and he's returning - live and in digital HD - on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, to fight current WBC Welterweight champion "Vicious" Victor Ortiz at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Digiplex Destinations, a new and fast growing chain of all-digital theaters, will be hosting fight fans on Sept. 17 at Digiplex Bloomfield, 863 Park Ave., Bloomfield, Conn. (five miles from downtown Hartford), and at the Digiplex Rialto Theater, 250 East Broad St., Westfield, N.J. The bout begins at 9 p.m. ET, and tickets for $18 can be purchased at the box office or online at www.digiplexdest.com.
The fight will be shown in its entirety with the world welterweight title fight between "Money" Mayweather and titleholder Ortiz as the main event, with undercards featuring Saul "Canelo" Alvarez vs. Alfonso Gomez, and Erik Morales vs. Lucas Matthysse.

Ortiz, at 24, is 10 years younger than Mayweather and holds a 33-2 record with 29 wins by knockout. Mayweather sports an impressive 41-0 record across five weight divisions, 25 by K.O. This will be his first bout since his WBA World Welterweight title fight with "Sugar" Shane Mosley on May 1, 2010.
