Sports Broadcasting Camp at Clark Recreation Center

Kids aged 11 to 18 years will get hands-on experience and learn about the world of sports broadcasting.  Participants in the weeklong camp will gain insight into game coverage, behind the scenes activities, and learn about sports from a sports-caster's point of view.

Participants will practice game preparation, writing and interviewing skills, the differences between radio and television calls, sports radio, teleprompter use and on-air presentation.  Participants will practice all week leading up to their final assignment.... calling a professional baseball game.

Open to: all Clark Boys & Girls aged 11 to 18. 

Camp Dates/Times: 

• Monday through Thursday, July 11 to 14, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.,
• Friday, July 15, 5:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. (Final class will be held at Somerset Patriots' ballpark.)

Cost: $99 for the entire week
