Fatal Victim ID'd In Crash With Tractor Trailer In Linden
The Elizabeth man was a passenger in a car that crashed into a parked tractor trailer early Wednesday morning in Linden, police say.
LINDEN, NJ — Authorities have identified the Elizabeth man who died after a crash with a tractor trailer early Wednesday morning in Linden, police said.
Jorge Guevara, 41, of Elizabeth was identified as the fatal victim, Linden Police Lt. Christopher Guenther said.
Guevara was a passenger in a 2002 Lexus sedan that was going east on the 1100 block of W. St. George Avenue in Linden when it hit a tractor trailer parked on the side of the road just before 1 a.m., Guenther said.

Guevara was extricated from the vehicle by Linden Fire Department and taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Rahway where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle, a 40-year-old Elizabeth man, was taken to Newark University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been released.

W. St George Avenue was closed in both directions between N. Stiles Street and Rahway Aveue in Rahway until about 5 a.m. as a result of the crash.
The crash remains under joint investigation by the Linden Police Traffic Bureau and the Union County Homicide Task Force. Anyone with information is urged to contact Investigator John Halkias at 908-474-8505.
