Fire Closes Garwood's Fusion D'lite 'Indefinitely'

"We thank all of our supporters for the love and support these past seven years," Fusion D'lite said.

GARWOOD, NJ — Garwood's Fusion D'lite is closed indefinitely after a fire broke out at the Asian sushi restaurant early Thursday morning.

"We regret to inform you that our restaurant fell victim to a fire in the early morning. Thankfully no one was hurt, nor were any surrounding buildings or businesses affected by the fire, but Fusion D will be closed indefinitely while we work through this tragedy," Fusion D'lite stated on its Facebook page.

Garwood Firefighters went to the restaurant at 348 North Ave. around 3:10 a.m. at where they could hear alarms sounding as well as see smoke when they arrived, Garwood Fire Department said.

Garwood Engine 5’s crew broke in through the front door to find heavy smoke throughout the building and a "moderate" fire in the kitchen area, according to the fire department.

The fire was quickly put out and stopped from spreading into nearby businesses.
