First Juvenile Sentenced In Union County Under New Cyberbullying Law

A 15-year-old Hillside girl plead guilty to fourth-degree cyber harassment on Monday and received a sentence of one year probation.

A 15-year-old Hillside girl plead guilty to fourth-degree cyber harassment on Monday stemming from an incident involving an inappropriate Facebook message where the girl challenged a classmate to fight her and threatened to kill her, according to nj.com.

The sentence is a result of New Jersey’s newly instated cyberbullying statute signed into law in January, according to nj.com.
