Fun and Games After-School Club is a Hit at Kumpf

The club was created to promote student involvement in after school activities.

This release was received from the Clark School District.

The  Fun and Games Club is an after school activity organized by teachers Jennifer Bartolomeo and Arielle Wegbreit at Carl H. Kumpf Middle School in Clark. It is a club for students of all ability levels. It is an exciting, interactive environment in which students come together in grades 6, 7, and 8 to share their love for fun and games. The club meets once a week with a varied array of students. While sign-in sheets are provided at every meeting, attendance is not taken to entice members to bring their friends along.

The club was created to promote student involvement in after school activities. However, it has done so much more, for it has shown to be a club that celebrates acceptance and appreciates difference. The club personnel is a mix of different groups of friends and students who come together to just be kids in a controlled after school setting. During the club meetings, students play school-appropriate games in a fun, but contained, setting. This includes, but is not limited to, classic board games, computer games that the servers allow, and team building activities. All students are encouraged to share their ideas for games to play as a cohesive socialization group. The Fun and Games Club has been a wonderful addition to the Clark Public School District.
