GARWOOD, NJ — Four candidates vying for seats on the Garwood Borough Council will square off virtually in a forum on Oct. 26.

The four candidates — Democrats Jeff Jotz and Clarissa Nolde and Republicans Heather Loffredo and Kimberly Salmon — will discuss the issues facing the borough at the forum sponsored by residents of the Pointe, the condominium complex between Maple and Chestnut Streets.

The forum will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at zoom.com, click on "Join a Meeting" and enter the Meeting ID 988 543 6628. Voters can also submit questions that may be asked of the candidates to PointeForum21@gmail.com.

This will be the ninth year the Pointe has held these forums.

"Because of the pandemic, we were unable to meet last year," said Christine Spear, the president of the Pointe condominium’s board. "But in every other year since 2012, our residents have planned, organized and underwritten these meetings. We believe they are an important public service because there is no other opportunity for Garwood voters to see the candidates in action."
