Linden Man Shatters Front Door, Burglarizes 7-Eleven Store: Cops
Michael Johnson, 34, of Linden shattered the front glass door of the locked store early Tuesday morning, police said.

LINDEN, NJ — A Linden man, who police say burglarized a local convenience store on Tuesday, has been arrested, according to authorities.
At about 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Linden Police Officers went to the 7-Eleven store on the 1800 block of E. St. George Avenue, which is open 24 hours.
The store was briefly closed with the doors locked when the store manager, who was inside the store, said he called police after he heard the front glass door shatter, Linden Police said.

Michael Johnson, 34, of Linden was identified after police viewed surveillance video from inside the store. Johnson was later found walking nearby on N. Park Avenue but ran from the area when police confronted him, police said.
After a brief chase, Johnson was found hiding in a nearby backyard and taken into custody.

Johnson was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary and fourth-degree resisting arrest and disorderly persons offenses of theft and criminal mischief. He was released pending a scheduled appearance in Superior Court on Sept. 30.
